Plot Summary: This series of books are about a living skeleton (Skulduggery Pleasent) and his sidekick Valkyrie Cain. Together they set out to save the world from Baron Vengeous and the Grotesquery- an unkillable beast made from different parts of horrible beasts from the ages. When the Grotesquery reaches its full power it will call back the faceless ones and together they will destroy the world.
Personal Response: I really enjoy these books as they are fast-paced, hilarous and muderous. I have also read the first book in the series wich introduces the characters and helps you to get to know the characters of the story. I think that boys may enjoy this book as it is grousome (wich I enjoy) and some times very disgusting in the way the author describes the scene after a battle. I would reccomend this book to 12+ as the story can become hard to follow with which evil guy is which because in this book alone it talks about 5 different evil guys so it can become hard to follow along with.
